The Mystery of God is the long-concealed but now-revealed plan of God that reaches its fulfillment when the seventh angel sounds his trumpet.
It is the comprehensive purpose announced beforehand to the prophets and centered on the establishment of God’s kingdom through Christ.
What was once hidden has been made known in the gospel, and at the last trumpet that purpose is brought to completion.

In the New Testament the word “mystery” (Greek mystērion) refers to truth that was previously concealed but is now revealed by God. The mystery of God encompasses His redemptive plan for both Israel and the nations, the inclusion of the Gentiles, the church as the body of Christ, and the ultimate triumph of the kingdom. In Revelation 10 John sees a mighty angel with a little scroll. The angel swears by the One who created heaven and earth that there would be no more delay, but that “in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.” When the seventh trumpet actually sounds in Revelation 11, loud voices in heaven proclaim that the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever. Thus the mystery of God reaches its appointed climax: the long-promised reign of God through the Messiah is publicly established. All that the prophets had spoken concerning the restoration of all things under the rule of the Lord’s Anointed is brought to completion.

No more delay. The same God who kept the mystery secret for ages has revealed it in the gospel and will consummate it at the last trumpet. Therefore hold fast to the testimony of Jesus. The mystery is finished, the kingdom is established, and He shall reign forever and ever. Live in the light of the fulfilled purpose of God.
