Seventh Trumpet
The Seventh Trumpet is the final trumpet judgment in Revelation, sounded by the seventh angel and identified as the third woe.
When it is blown, loud voices in heaven proclaim that the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.
This trumpet does not merely announce further plagues; it declares the public establishment of God’s kingdom and the fulfillment of the mystery of God.
It marks the decisive transition from the present age of resistance to the open reign of the Messiah.
After the sixth trumpet has sounded and the two witnesses have finished their testimony, the seventh angel blows his trumpet. Immediately loud voices in heaven declare the triumph of the kingdom. The twenty-four elders fall on their faces and worship God, giving thanks that He has taken His great power and begun to reign. The nations rage, but God’s wrath has come, the time for the dead to be judged has arrived, and the saints are to receive their reward. Then God’s temple in heaven is opened, and the ark of His covenant is seen within the temple. There follow flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail. The seventh trumpet is therefore both the climax of the trumpet series and the announcement that the long-promised reign of God through Christ has been publicly established. It fulfills the word spoken in Revelation 10:7 that in the days of the seventh trumpet the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as He announced to His servants the prophets.
